AGM 2024

This year’s AGM and Conference took place from 19 to 21 September 2024 in Budapest, Hungary, within the organisation of the National Heritage Institute of Hungary. Conference inspired and served the professionals from various aspects of cemeteries. Touristic, artistic, historical, architectural and other topics merged but kept the same focus of Cemeteries as Cultural Spaces of European Remembrance. More about the AGM 2024 can be found HERE.

About the AGM and Conference

Each year, the Annual General Meeting attracts over 100 cemetery academics, artists and professionals from all over Europe. It generates a lot of public attention and through the conference helps expose important topics on cemetery’s history, art, architecture, cultural heritage, sustainability, management, and future trends. This main ASCE event is held at the end of September and consist of three segments:
  • Annual General Meeting of members, where most important projects and activities of ASCE are presented, along with financial and administrative reports.
  • Conference which consists of presentations over themed subjects arranged by the editorial board.
  • Cultural program and guided tour of a significant cemetery where participants can discover the particulary important monuments, events or stories that shaped the cultural heritage of town, city and Europe.
